Commerce Bicentennial & 5K Run/Walk
Date: June 14, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Location: Scarlet’s Playground, Dodge Park #5
Celebrate 200 years of Commerce Village with an amazing 5K sponsored by Straight Smiles Orthodontics, followed by a day full of festivities:
- Timed race on a scenic route
- Pancake breakfast
- Children’s activities, pony rides, and a petting zoo
- Local vendors, corn hole tournament, and live music
- Refreshments and a beer tent
Summer Concerts in the Park
Dates: July 11, 18, 25 & August 1, 2025
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Richardson Community Center
Enjoy live music under the summer sky. This free series, also sponsored by our Straight Smiles Orthodontics team, includes:
- Performances from local bands
- Activities for children and face painting
- Food trucks with snacks and dinner options
Bring your lawn chair, some friends, and get ready for a great evening!
Round Robin Pickleball Tournament
Date: Saturday, June 7, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM
Location: Richardson Community Center Courts
1485 E. Oakley Park Rd, Commerce Township
The lovely Richardson Community Center pickleball courts are quite the hub of athletic activity! Commerce Township Parks and Recreation holds two more tournaments on August 2nd and October 4th.
This is a lighthearted event focused on friendly competition for beginner and intermediate pickleball players. Good sportsmanship is encouraged throughout!
- Commerce Township resident registration begins April 28
- Non-resident registration begins May 5
- For players familiar with rules, scorekeeping, and basic play (not recommended for those rated above 3.5)
Game Format: Partners and opponents are randomly assigned for each match. Individual points are recorded, and top scorers advance to a single-elimination bracket to determine the final winner.
Trail-or-Treat
Date: October 24, 2025
Time: 6:00 PM
Location: Dodge Park #5
Get into the Halloween spirit with Trail-or-Treat! Families walk through the park collecting treats and enjoying themed games along the way. It’s a safe, fun, and festive night for all ages.
Holiday Tree Lighting & Santa Visit
Date: December 6, 2025
Time: 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Location: Richardson Community Center
Close out the year with a cozy evening filled with:
- Tree lighting ceremony
- Photos with Santa
- Crafts, face painting, and cookies
- Hot cocoa and holiday spirit
This annual event brings the whole town together to celebrate the season.
Silo Ranch
This venue is a beloved equestrian hub for those in Commerce Township and greater metro Detroit.
- One highlight is Kids Camp in the summer, where children can learn horse riding and other equestrian care.
- You can also purchase a plot in the Community Garden if you have a green thumb! These are seasonal plots that are open from late May to mid-October.
